If + past + past conditional

 অতীতের শর্ত বুঝাতে Past condional ব‍্যবহৃত হয়। এ ধরণের শর্ত কখনো পূরণ হয়না। এগুলো কাল্পনিক বা অবাস্তব।

If + sub + verb2 + ----- + comma + sub + would / could + verb1 + -----

আবার if যুক্ত বাক‍্যের মূল verb হওয়া বুঝালে

If + sub + were + ----- comma + sub + would/ could + verb + ----

1.If you came, I would go.

2. If you were attentive, you could get A+ in the exam.

3. If she wanted, I could help her.

4. If I were rich, I could help the poor.

5. I would be happy if you came.

6. We could win the match if we played well.

 If you come, I will go.

এখানে if যুক্ত বাক‍্যটি শর্তবোধক এবং পরবর্তী বাক‍্যটি Result প্রকাশক। এ ধরণের শর্ত পূরণ হতে পারে।

Structure : If + Sub+Verb(s/es) + --- + কমা + Sub + shall/will + verb + -----

1. যদি তুমি আমাকে সাহায্য কর, আমি  তোমাকে সাহায্য করব।

If you help me, I will help you.

2. যদি মনোযোগী হও, তুমি পরীক্ষায় ভালো করবে।

If you are attentive, You will do better in the exam.

3. যদি সে আসে, আমি যাব।

If he comes, i will go.

4. যদি সময়কে অপচয় কর, তুমি জীবনে কষ্ট ভোগ করবে।

If you waste time, You will suffer in life.

5. যদি কঠোর পরিশ্রম কর, তুমি জীবনে উন্নতি করবে।

If you work hard, You will shine in life.

If + present + present

 If it rains, I don't go to school.

এখানে If যুক্ত বাক‍্যটি শর্তবোধক এবং পরবর্তী বাক‍্যটি ফলাফল প্রকাশক। এ ধরণের শর্ত যা সাধারণত পূরণ হয়। 

structure: If + sub + verb(s/es) +--- + comma + sub + verb + --

আবার Imperative sentence + if + sub + verb

1. তুমি যদি চাও, আমি তোমাকে সাহায্য করতে পারি।

If you want, I can help you.

2. যদি আমি অসুস্থ হই, মা খুব চিন্তিত হন।

If i am ill, Mother becomes very worried.

3. চালিয়ে যাও যদি চাও।

Go on if you want.

4. আমি যেতে পারি যদি সময় পাই।

I can go if i get time.

In order to +Verb

 In order to = জন‍্যে, উদ্দেশ্যে।

উদ্দেশ্যমূলক verb এর পূর্বে in order to বসে।

ইহা simple sentence. 

Structurr: Sub + Verb + --- + in order to + verb

or

In order to + Verb + ---- + sub + verb + -----

1. বেঁচে থাকার জন‍্য আমরা খাই।

In order to live we eat.

2. জীবনে ঊন্নতি করার জন‍্য সে কঠোর পরিশ্রম করে।

He works hard in order to shine in life.

3. বাবার সাথে দেখা করার জন‍্য সে এসেছিল।

He came in order to see my father.

4. মাছ ধরার জন‍্য জেলেরা সাগরে যায়।

The fishermen go to the sea in order to catch fish.

5. কলম কেনার জন‍্য মা আমাকে দশ টাকা দিলেন।

Mother gave me ten taka in order to buy a pen.

লাশ হয়ে গেলাম

 কেমন যেন হয়ে গেছি

কথা বলতেও ভীত

পথ চলাটাও শংকিত

চোখ তুলে তাকাতেও ভয়

কেমন যেন নিজেকে লুকাতেই ব‍্যস্ত।

অথচ এমনতো কথা ছিলনা

পাখির মতো স্বাধীনতা চেয়েছিলাম

প্রাণভরে হাসতে চেয়েছিলাম 

কোথাও কোন ভুল হয়েছে

নিজেকে মৃত মনে হয়

সবাই আমাকে লাশ ভাবে 

আর আমিও এতে সুখ খুঁজি।

Without+gerund

 একটি কাজ না করিয়া আরেকটি কাজ হলে বা না হলে Without+gerund বসে। ইহা by + gerund এর বিপরীত।

1. ভাত না খাইয়া আমরা বাঁচতে পারিনা।

Without eating rice we can not live.

2. চর্চা না করিয়া তুমি ইংরেজি শিখতে পারনা।

Without practising you can not learn English.

3. সৎ না হইয়া তুমি সুখী হতে পারনা।

Without being honest you can not be happy.

4. কঠোর পরিশ্রম না করে কেউ সুখী হতে পারনা।

Without working hard none can be happy.

By+verb+ing(Gerund)

 Gerund দেখতে verb এর মত হলেও verb নয়। ইহা মূলত noun. Gerund বাক‍্যের sub বা obj হিসাবে বসে।

একটি কাজ করার ফলে যদি আরেকটি কাজ হয় তবে By + gerund বসে।

ক্রিয়া + আ= Gerund(Verb+ing)

1. ভাত খাইয়া আমরা বাঁচতে পারি।

By eating rice we can live.

2. মনোযোগী হইয়া তুমি পরীক্ষায় ভালো করতে পার।

By being attentive you can do better in the exam.

3. খবরের কাগজ পড়ে তুমি অনেক কিছু জানতে পার।

By reading the newspaper you can know many things.

4. মিথ‍্যা বলিয়া আমরা পাপ করি।

By telling a lie we commit sin.

5. বৃক্ষ রোপণ করে আমরা পরিবেশকে রক্ষা করতে পারি।

By planting trees we can save the environment.

Have to/has to + verb

 কোন কাজ করতে হবে এ ধরেণর বাধ‍্যবাধকতা বুঝাতে 

Sub+have to/has to+ verb+------বসে।

Example:

1. আমাকে ইংরেজি শিখতে হবে।

 I have to learn English.

2. আমাদেরকে সৎ হতে হবে।

 We have to be honest.

3. তাকে বাড়ি যেতে হবে।

He has to go home.

4. তোমাকে কাজটি করতে হবে।

You have to do the work.

5. বালকটিকে কঠোর পরিশ্রম করতে হবে।

The boy has to work hard.

Use of had

 Had অতীতে কারো কিছু ছিল বুঝালে past indefinite tense এ had বসে।

sub+had+-------

1. আমার একটি কলম ছিল

I had a pen.

2. লোকটির অনেক সম্পদ ছিল

The man had much wealth.

3. আমাদের একটি পুকুর ছিল।

We had a pond.

4. বালকটির একটি ঘুড়ি ছিল।

The boy had a kite.

5. বাবার একটি গাড়ি ছিল।

Father had a car.

Transformations

1. The dog had been fed. (Active)

2. He speaks english more correctly than you.(positive)

3. We should be honest.(Imperative)

4. He leads a very unhappy life.(Exclamatory)

5. Oneday i shot a bird.(passive)

6. The rose is the best of all flowers(positive)

7. My pen is costlier than yours.(Positive)

8. Pen through the sentence.(passive)

9. How talkative you are!(assertive)

10. It is more than honesty.(positive)

Use of have/ has

 Look at the sentences below

1. I have a book - আমার একটা বই আছে

2. We have a house- আমাদের একটি বাড়ি আছে

3. You have a pen - তোমার একটি কলম আছে

4. He has a garden - তার একটি বাগান আছে 

5. Father has a car - বাবার একটি গাড়ি আছে

6. Karim has a ball - করিমের একটি বল আছে

7. They have a computer - তাদের একটি কম্পিউটার আছে।

মনে রাখতে হবে he, she, যেকোন একটি নাম যদি Subject হয় তবে has বসে।
